The students drew whatever came to mind when listening to 2 different music selections.   They loved the song Bambaleo by The Gypsy Kings!

Measurement- lesson on surface area

The Non-Fiction Projects have begun!

Students were working quietly on writing a fact they found on their books. Students will find 4 facts, print them on their paper and draw the corresponding picture. Next week, they will present their information to the class in an oral report.

Fun Math!

Students needed to estimate then measure how tall 4 of their friends were using a popsicle stick as the unit of measurement.  In Grade 1, students use non-standard units of measurement like paperclips, popsicle sticks and straws to measure things and people.

Science structures

Students made their versions of a school, store, castle, Leaning Tower Of Pisa, C.N. Tower and Eiffel Tower.

Nonfiction project!

The Grade 1 students will be investigating the world if nonfiction books in class.  Students are learning how to find facts in their books and will pick their 4 favourite facts tp present to the class.  They will receive a mark for the written project and a mark for their oral presentation.  Best of all,  it doesn't require any work at home!
